Body-protected areas in Tasmania

In Tasmania, notifiable electrical work needs a Certificate of Electrical Compliance (CEC) provided to TechSafe Australia, the government-funded inspection service, within 3 days of energising. TechSafe may inspect the work.

What to do as the practice

  • Tell your electrician which rooms are patient areas and how each will be used.
  • Get your copy of the CEC and the AS/NZS 3003 test results.
  • Book the retest within 12 months, and before any alterations.

Testing, everywhere

AS/NZS 3003 requires routine inspection and testing of body-protected areas at intervals not exceeding 12 months. The date of the last test goes on the label at the door.
